I must admit, I’m a sucker for knights. They’re just so cool. It might be all the stories of I was told as a kid and the perpetual King Arthur legend, but if you give me a good knight in a series, I’m sold.
Now Kiki (left) and Mitsuhide (right) don’t clang about in armor but they’re practically knights. They protect a prince and they are a pretty amazing team.
Kiki is loyal, methodological and straight forward. She doesn’t waste time with dodging about subjects, she will simply dive in.
Mitsuhide on the other hand is more aware of other’s feelings. He’s a master swordsman but he has a true talent with interpersonal relationships so he balances Kiki out in times of need.
What’s awesome about Akagami no Shirayuki-hime is that you get a lot of background on all side characters.
They are all part of a bigger puzzle and it’s really interesting how they all fit together and how they came to be.
By the way, the manga is out until volume twelve so if you are really impatient, you can read ahead and not worry about the episode limit! You can find the manga online or in amazon.
